A nice way to plan out a design for your house is to do a Photoshop rendering of how it will look once planted.
Pictured here is a design for Xeriscape, low maintenance, low water use landscape. You can click on the photo to enlarge it. I used agaves, Mountain Laurel, Pink Skullcap, Copper Canyon Daisy, Salvia Greggii White, Desert Willow tree, boulders, and crushed granite.
