The weather is just about perfect except that we have seen no rain. We are in the midst of a seriuos drought, and our plants and trees are thirsty!
I recommend giving your plants supplemental water with a deep irrigation 2 times a week. Do the same for any young trees by setting a hose on low, and letting it seep into the roots for 15-20 minutes one time a week.
The grass at my house is not growing very much, due to little irrigation. Mow your lawns every 12-14 days.
If you have not applied more mulch to your beds, now is a great time to do that, or turn existing mulch. You can still purchase and install annual color and seed your lawn with Rye.
Prune spent blooms to encourage your perennials to give you one last show, before cutting them back.
Plant some new garden veggies, so you can harvest on a rotating basis. I just planted more Spinach and Cabbage. Fertilize the ones you planted in October with Liquid Seaweed or Compost.
