Yesterday I was mulling around my garden, pulling peas off the vines and popping them into my mouth. I suddenly had the urge to eat a carrot. So, I looked down at my garden and decided to get over my fear of pulling one up too early, and try it anyway.
Too my surprise, it was heavy and longer than expected. I finally extracted the carrot from the earth and just about screamed with delight with how large it was. Not in length, but in girth. It was the largest carrot I have ever seen, and it tasted wonderfully.
Here are some photos, and there is one inappropriate I could not resist taking of my friend staging with it :
I am going to post a good recipe for carrot and broccoli dill salad once my broccoli is ripe for picking. (5 more days)
