New Day Community Garden pavilion

The community came together once again to build a shared space at the Austin Baha'i Center and New Day Community Garden.  Gardeners from NDCG wrote a grant to Keep Austin Beautiful to fund a community space that could be used by SFC and other organizations to hold workshops, gatherings, and education.

Design Build Live held the first workshop on how to construct ferrocement rain collection jars.  We learned how to plaster and plumming.  It was a really neat group of students who worked really hard in 95 degree sunny weather.

Thanks to Stanley Architects for drawing the plans and permitting, the Yarrow Landscape team for setting the posts and Equitable Green Group for building the overhead structure and DBL for the rain jars, and NDCG for writing the grant, and KAB for the grant funding, and Austin Baha'i Center for the space we really enjoyed a group effort on this one!
