Fall is my favorite time of year and the time to plant in Texas. Here is what I suggest:
VEGETABLES: chard, mustard greens, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, collard greens, and kale.
PERENNIAL (plants): All!
TREES/SHRUBS: All!
GROUND COVER: In shady areas, I suggest horseherb (my favorite!), Pigeonberry, or Frog Fruit. Other adaptive groundcover includes Leadwort, Mountain Pea, and Wedelia.
NATIVE GRASS and WILDFLOWER SEEDS. Do this in the next week or two while the ground is still warm.
