Cooking Your Front Yard

There are many recipes for cooking your front yard, but here are some simple ways to start with:

Lamb's Quarters. i Plucked the small Leaves and Washed.

Swiss Chard. i cut the big pretty Leaves from the base of the plant. Then, cut the chunky Stems from the Leafy tops. the Tops will be cooked, but are great Raw for Wraps!!!! the Stems can be sliced to make Pasta instead of using noodles.

the Top is Swiss Chard cooked with Onion, Garlic, and Red Pepper.

the Bottom is Lamb's Quarter cooked with just a little Garlic and Salt.

Dandelion Roots. i Washed and Cut them from the leaf ( i don't particularly like the leaves, but are edible). then, i will Food Process them, Spread the little pieces on a baking pan, and Roast at 200 degrees for 2 hours with the door open. then, i will Grind them once more through a coffee grinder (optional) and save in a recycled glass jar to make Coffee using a French Press.

Herbs. Basil, Oregano, Rosemary, Dandelion Root, Lamb's Quarter and Marigold Flower.
